The official website for the Ploneconf 2012, www.ploneconf.org has been launched and made public on plone.org and Twitter. Now we are definitely in business. Plone conference 2012 logo released

The logo for the Plone conference 2012 which will be held in Arnhem in The Netherlands, is released. Rebel X, one of the Dutch Plone companies volunteered to do the design and created a great logo. As of today, the organization in Arnhem will start working on t-shirts, beer glasses and other relevant items. The logo will (obviously) also appear on the new conference website that is almost ready for launch.

The Plone conference 2012 will take place in Arnhem, the Netherlands. The foundation members have had their advisory vote and the majority favored Arnhem. Last weekend, the Board made the final decision, so now we can start the preparations. Needless to say we are very happy to be elected.

This week, the community decides wether the Plone Conf 2012 will be held in Arnhem or Paris. Two companies turned in a prososal, so we have a 50/50 chance of winning the vote. If all goes well, the decision will be made public on monday the 23th of january.

Next month, a Dutch magazine is goint to run a story on the Plone conference 2011 that was held in San Francisco last november. For that, the editor contacted one of the organisers: Elizabeth Leddy. Together with Tom Kapanka (AKA Spanky) and a team of bunnies, she made sure the conference was a succes. We asked all kind of questions regarding preparations and things to take into consideration. In all: what are the parameters for a succesful event? Since only Dutch Ploners will be able to read the story, we decided to copy the part with Leddy and turn it into a blog. During an event of Fair Trade Arnhem, Four Digits was invided to do a presentation on our paperless office. All the documents we use are digitally stored on a server, so there is almost no need for paper, printers, faxes and toners.

According to the jury, this Plone site is an excellent tool for highschool students to determine the next step in their education.

Day 2 of the PloneConf 2011 started with some lighting talks and after that, P.J. Onori did his keynote speech at the Century 9 movie theater. He is the lead product designer at Seabright, a product design and development company. He worked with both developers and designers and his message to the community was that it is all about the user experience. "Collaboration is fun."
